check online classifieds for a used peavey classic 30 combo. these amps have very good clean & overdrive channels. excellent reverb too. they're versatile & would cover those types of music.
not sure what model it is, but peavey makes a nice playing semi hollow similar to the ibanez pictured above.
the ibanez artcore semi hollow is also a nice guitar for the money. great deals can be found online if you're patient and are willing to look for them.

i picked up a new VHT classic 6 on ebay for $200 pp/s. it's one of the better cheap amps i've played, and at 6 watts you can crank it. then pick up a used mexi strat or tele, or maybe you can find a decent used korean epiphone. You'll probably want to pick up a used tube screamer or some other dirt box if you go this route, but you'll never outgrow this setup...
