Once again, he proposed the deal a week prior, then I proposed the trade on the next Tuesday after Cam had yet another terrible game, SJax stood on the sideline with his helmet in his hand for nearly the entire second half, and Leshoure came off of a three touchdown game.
No I didn't. I wish you'd stop saying that. I told you I didn't want Steve Smith at all. Obviously it was a bad call by me, but I had good reason to not want him. I was going off of the terrible 2nd half he had last year and along with the fact that Newton had been terrible, which has a direct effect on Smith.
Almost every fantasy expert was saying that Sunday that SJax looked to be done and Richardson was going to get more work. I had no use for what at the time was a crappy Cam Newton and a benched SJax. I wanted the starting RB and Rice was the guy he offered first.
Also once again, I was a dumbass for not realizing that the trade was still sitting out there. I use ESPN for almost all of my leagues and I'm use to an offer expiring after two days, but still that was my bad. He accepted on Sunday night, after SJax ran all over SF. I didn't even know it was still out there until I got the email of the accepted offer. (ETA: After the games on the day the trade was accepted, there's no chance I would've done it. If I realized it was out there still, I would've rescinded it. I even said that right afterwards.)
Hindsight is always 20/20. If the trade had been accepted right when it was proposed, it would have been fine. Obviously now I lost in the trade, but that's how it goes. I thought I was helping myself by trading my backup QB and what looked to be a RB who was heading to the pine, for a starting RB getting the workload and redzone TDs.
I'm sorry it ended up helping BHam so much, but I'm not as dumb as you're making me out to be. I'm sure at least everyone has made one trade that has turned out horrible...
