I disagree. Id say that most kids leaving 5th grade in a private school are probably better at reading/writing/basic math than more than half of students in grades 6-12 in a bad public school.

And I agree that average test scores for a private school kid in 5th would be higher than a 7th-8th grader in public school. But that is because a good amount of the kids have idiot parents who don't stress education to their children.
