I need some help, and I know you guys are the ones to consult with. First off, I have a very small credit card with Capital One meant for college students with no credit. After researching, it looks like I am at the top end of this limit and wont be able to get a credit increase (many people have had this problem it looks like), which is mainly what I'm after.

I have a nice paying non-traveling job and do not over spend my money. I pay in full each month, but i dont want a charge card because i like the option of deferring payment if needed. I mostly just want a credit increase to decrease my utilization ratio. Plus, I want a card that will grow with me and allow more frequent CI in the future.

I prefer a card that i can use anywhere if possible. My first guess is Chase Freedom.

What are some of your credit card recommendations?

I had a Chase Freedom card for several years until Chase rolled out the Ink card for business. 1% cash back on all purchases and 5% quarterly bonus categories is pretty nice. How much do you spend in an average month?

A lot of people like Amex, but they charge an annual fee and it's not as widely accepted as Visa/MC.

My main card is Chase Amazon and other is Citi Forward. I can call Chase's premium phone line still and they have Americans. It's so nice.

I initially had that same capital one card in high school, but the customer service was terrible and I did not like the online features so I canceled it.

I now use the amex green charge card since I pay everything off every month and the customer service is second to none. I have the chase freedom visa card for everywhere that doesn't take amex. I've been very happy with both overall and would recommend either.
