can I walk up to them with gloves and catch them alive.
I heard you could do this with yotes.
No you can not walk up to a coyote and catch it with gloves on. You can grab fox by the tail stretch them out and grab them behind the head. If it was me and instead of having to get rabie shots when one bites you I would use a catch pole.
You can not sale the hides right now and even if you could they are not any good this time of year. Unless you have a license you can not sale them live either. Just knock them in the head or relocate them far away from where you live.

I have a piece of 3/4" PVC with a cabled noose through it I used to use to hold the coyotes down. I'd pin their head down, then get their leg out of the trap. I'd bring along a dog kennel to put them in for transport. After they are in that kennel for a little while they get kinda tame and quit biting everything. That was back before coyotes were much of a problem anywhere. Now they are becoming more and more abundant. I wouldn't keep one alive now, even for the $100/ea I was getting just a couple years ago from the fox pens. If I see someone transporting a live coyote I might shoot him...and the coyote.
As far as your fox problem, if the lady is against killing the fox, she shouldn't be against losing a chicken.
