Just finished ADWD. Rank the storylines (spoilers obviously)

WOW. Loved ADWD. I think it's the most well-written book of the series so far. The descriptions floored me. Amazing.
While none of the POVs topped Cersei's from AFFC (no POV from ANY of the books does IMO), I felt that overall, the collective of POVs was better. In AFFC, the great POVs were great, but they were very few. The shitty POVs (Brienne most of all) were especially dreadful. The shitty POVs in ADWD (Dany and Tyrion) weren't as shitty as Brienne's, but they definitely dragged.
Give me your rankings for the storylines
1 - Reek and the Boltons (These POVs flew by. Love the Boltons)
2 - Events on the Wall (Finally loved Jon's POVs. Melisandre's=
)
3 - Events in King's Landing (Unveiling of Robert Strong was great, assassination of Pycelle and Kevan left my jaw hanging. Missed Varys)
4 - Stannis' campaign for Winterfell (Enjoyed Asha's story and my love for Stannis keeps growing)
5 - JonCon's Journey (One of my favorite new POVs. He is going to be a great character IMO)
6 - Victarion's Voyage (I can't wait to see where he ends up. Awesome character. Total badass)
7 - Davos' mission for Stannis (Would be higher, but his first few chapters were pretty uninteresting)
8 - Events in Mereen i.e. Dany, Barristan, Quentyn (Dany's were dreadful. Same thing every chapter. Barristan and Quentyn were great, though.)
9 - Tyrion's journey in Essos (Was not interested. I ended up liking Penny. Greyscale-afflicted boat encounter was one of my favorite chapters in the book, coincidentally)
10- Arya's training in Braavos (Too little happened)
Best new POV - Melisandre
New POV's I'm hoping for - Mance and Roose

I've heard Martin say there are no new major POV's in the last 2 books, could be wrong tho.
I I always liked the stories on the wall and across the sea, but ADWD was not the best book for Mereen or Dany. Looking forward to drogon roasting some dothraki to start TWOW.

Maybe they could be one-offs like Areo and Varamyr. Like I said, I'm just hoping.
I was thinking. With Jon's alleged death, I'm assuming that everyone thinks Melisandre will revive him just like Thoros did for Beric and Catelyn. I feel like GRRM wants us to think that to throw us a curveball.
Here's a theory: What if Jon lives in Ghost for a while until Dany arrives. Once she gets to Westeros, Jon, possessing the blood of the dragon (assuming R+L=J is true), wargs into one of the dragons. Definitely a long shot, but I feel like it would be pretty cool, and not as easy to guess as a Red God resurrection or having Jon slip into a human's skin. I know for sure that he has to come, Martin has spent much too long developing his story for him to just die. Unless this is a trick like Mance's "death." Who knows.

I personally think Jon goes into Ghost then Mel revives him somehow. I don't see Jon hanging around in Ghost for a book and a half. Or at least I hope not, that would be lame as hell IMO.

A few things I want to know coming into the next book:
Where is Rickon? Does Davos find him?
Who did Rob name heir after his argument with Catelyn before they went to the Red Wedding? IIRC, he wrote it, sealed it, and sent it off with someone.
Is Tyrion going to get Castle Rock through force? Will Cersi even care?
What is going on with Gendry? With all of these Targaryans popping up, does he have any significance as he did in the first two books?
The one thing I love, and hate, about Arya is that I have no idea what's going on. I don't even have a theory. Everyone else, I've guessed, and was wrong or will be wrong. I can't even put a theory together for her.

I thought this was pretty decidedly Jon. Cat and Robb never named a name in the convo, but who else would Cat be pissed about Robb naming?

Soooooo......
Is book #6 out yet?

Robb floated Jon's name and Catelyn was pissed but it wasn't clear if he followed her advice.

ADWD set up so many storylines for the next book that it's ridiculous. I think the most important heading into TWOW is Aegon/Dorne/King's Landing. We know from GRRM's readings that Aegon has taken Storm's End early on so that could be the domino to set up the overthrow of the Lannisters/Tyrell on the throne.
The sand snakes in King's Landing with a paranoid Cersei and a "friendly" Dornish army coming to help reminds me of some past storyline.

I'm thinking wow will be as good or better than SOS purely off of the things set up in dance

Reek and the Boltons was probably my favorite. Need to re-read ADWD again soon. I'm sure I missed a bunch on the first read, and have since read the novellas. This and AFFC set up what should be a really great close over the next two books. Wish we would have gotten more Arya tho
and hoping to see more into Oldtown

One thing about GRRM is that the true black and white villains in the series usually get what's coming to them.

I agree. GRRM saved everything for TWOW

I would love to share your enthusiasm, but am confounded. What do ADWD, AFFC and POVs stand for?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have no idea of whether to agree that GRRM saved everything for TWOW or not. To what do these acronyms apply?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sorry, but I'm guessing you probably haven't read any of the books and if not, you need to step away from this thread and not come back until you decide to read and finish them.
