New pistol for Wife

OK, gonna break down and get the Mrs a carry pistol. She's quite familiar with guns and can shoot my Sig 2022 .40 just fine, but needs a smaller one for purse, etc.
Narrowed down to two 9mm so far based on weight, trigger pull, cost, etc. Looking at S&W M&P Shield and the Taurus Millenium Pro 111. Seen good reviews on both, but wondering if anybody has any experiences with either or both ?
Thanks

You actually came here to ask if you should buy a Taurus over a S&W?

This is very related to being outdoors.

Taurus Millenium Pro 111
I have this pistol, but its from their Slim line. Being a woman, I have petite hands and I prefer a gun that I can grip well enough that I feel I can control it better than a regular full sized pistol.
I love my pistol, and would urge any woman that needs/wants one, this is a good one!

I have a pt111 9mm and really like it. My fiancee has no problems handling it and is pretty accurate with it, so I'd recommend it.
