Right, but some terrorist and his army storm into the SEC with guns and start making trades, and the result is that basically everything they did stands and is allowed?

It's one thing to suspend belief here and there, but that requires you to basically suspend any and all logic within a very logical world that Nolan himself created.

I need to watch the movie again and pay closer attention to this but the people in the building thought it was a dumb attempt at a robbery that failed because there was no money there and the police cut the wire and interrupted them.
And I need to pay closer attention to what they said the program actually did.

But yeah that's obviously a legit problem, unless it's mentioned that the program had some kind of way of disguising all the trades they made for Wayne.

Also it's said that it would eventually be proven as fraud but it would take time, and for the time being Wayne would be broke.

I did think it was a little dumb how quick they cut off his power and took everything but his house.

Great response. That was well thought out and very educational.

Seriously I read comments on here sometime and this is the first thing that comes to mind.

They said this in the Bat Cave after Batman recovered the device. Said the trades were encrypted but Wayne's finger prints were used.

Also, regarding the SEC, this is borrowed this from Polar Bear...

quote:

From the SEC's website...
quote:

We sometimes receive questions and complaints about futures trading. A futures contract is an agreement to buy or sell a specific quantity of a commodity or financial instrument at a specified price on a particular date in the future. Commodities include bulk goods, such as grains, metals, and foods, and financial instruments include U.S. and foreign currencies. The SEC administers and enforces the federal laws that govern the sale and trading of securities, such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, but we do not regulate futures trading.

It was about 10x more thought out and educational than your post....

The most unbelievable thing about this movie is that Dagat actually believed he could talk to Bane like that and get away with his life. What and idiot. Seriously though you ppl complaining about anything in this movie are like the guy in shallow hall who won't date the hot model BC her middle toe is slightly longer than her big toe.

"Do you feel in charge"?

Why the frick would you even care enough to respond to any of this if you're just gonna bitch out like a five year old?

Same thing could be said to /films. It's a bunch of nerds that sit behind a computer and bitch all day because they're too lazy and get up to make a career out of their passion for film. I mean it's a summer film. It's not like it's going to be up for an Oscar for best picture or something. To get all pussy because of some questionable instances in a film is just dumb.

And you talk about a logical world? Really? He drives a tank and uses an emp that doesn't have to recharge. And the Bat Wing uses hover technology to fly over a city. His cape is electrically charged light weight fabric that turns into a wing suit with no weight limit. He carries a small explosive projectile gun that we never see on his belt. He's a guy that walks around in a bullet proof suit but no one thinks to shoot at his face. His tanks spare tire turns into a motorcycle. He punched the joker enough and smashed his head into the glass without killing him when that would have killed a normal person. Harvey Dent had massive burns TO HIS HEAD that in real life would have killed him or at least put him in enough pain that the last thing he would do is get out of bed. Bruce had a fiery support beam fall on him and he laid there knocked out with smoke inhalation and didn't die. Wayne manor was rebuilt and looked like it age 100 years in 8 years. Bruce has all these secret places built but who's his contractor? Did he kill him afterwards? How did the joker walk hundreds of barrels onto a boat without anyone seeing him? Harvey fell and died. Batman fell hit a bunch of stuff on the way down and was out for like 5 seconds with no injuries. Bruce fell into an ice lake but survived off of a fire made of twigs when there was no vegetation around. That's a real logical word he created.

The movie was fun and I enjoyed it a lot and pretty sure I'll be buying it at midnight when it hits the selves.

Reading That last section of the article makes me think the guy who wrote it didnt watch the first 2 and half hours of the movie or didnt pay much attention

quote:

Bruce Wayne apparently figured out how to program the autopilot on The Bat?

Fox tells bruce that the autopilot can be fixed by someone with the time to fix it (i.e. Bruce). Bruce fixed it assumingly by downloaded the patch or whatever when he first got it and before Banes reign of terror

quote:

4) Bruce Wayne survived the crash and is now enjoying a beautiful life in lord-knows-where with Selina Kyle, 5) Alfred is totally cool with all this, and does not lose his shite at all when he finds this out

We know where he is, hes in Florida. Alfred earlier in the film goes off on a monologe about when Bruce was trainning with Ras, he hoped never to come back to Gothom but he hoped he would see him in that cafe he goes on vacation to with a family. he specifically says he would say nothing to bruce and Bruce would say nothing to him, he just knew he was safe as they exchanged a nod. The sequence at the end was Alfred finding peace by fufilling his dream.

Also people trying to fill minor plot holes with the "Bruce actually died" theory are actually opening up bigger holes than they are filling

Or perhaps he was "daydreaming" and seeing what he wanted to see.

Then why does he see Selina Kyle there? He has no reason to believe they would be together at that point and he wouldnt dream of her

And if he did die, what was the point of them pointing out that he fixed the autopilot? Why would Fox also realize that Bruce is alive?

Because it's easy for the director to just throw her in there to tie it up with a bow rather than some random actress.

He could still sacrifice himself if the plane had autopilot.

Either way that part of the film doesn't really bother me.

He didn't die. I have no idea where people are coming up with that. I thought the ending was pretty clear and wasn't meant to be even slightly ambiguous

Youre really reaching here. It isnt any easier or harder for him to put someone else there.

quote:

I understand that, but if you believe he died, him having the auto pilot doesnt matter either way. There would be no reason for them to point out that Bruce fixed the auto pilot because he would have been dead either way if you believe he actually sacraficed himself. Add in Fox doing the "Oh shite, Bruce is alive" smile and its pretty clear

That theory was made up by guys that want to be the smartest guy in the room but didnt quite think it all the way through

Why have her head pointlessly held to the side for an unneeded amount of time so it's absurdly clear that it's Kyle?

I didn't like the opening plane scene. Really? Cutting another plane in half in the air?

I liked it a lot better the second time. The only thing that really bothers me still is the lack of development of post-Bane Gotham after that initial sequence.

It was already a 3 hour movie, probably tough to fit that development in. Only way to fit everything in as it should have been would be to split it up Twilight style

This actually would have been a good idea. Most of the problems with the movie come back to them trying to do too much in an already very long film.

Where would the cut point be at? Trying to think of a spot they could have ended it on drama and a finale in order to make that a good movie in itself

My first guess would be after he broke the bat and took over the city

Yeah I think that's the only place you really could cut it
