LSU Special Teams...... Best in the country?

Watching LSU play ST has been so much fun the past 5 years. Does Les put more time into ST than other coaches? Is it our quality assistants? Or do we just put better athletes on our punt and kick teams?

Definitely top in the country, but just wanted to say don't discount Bama.
So many return men this year for us, Griffith on campus, and Mandell has improved.
However LSU's STs advantage over everyone is crazy!
to that one!

The other day I said Mett would go in the first round if he plays the way I expect him to.

Mathieu is a better player than Milliner. (Not a better cover corner though, but no need to argue.)
I've been talking about how stacked LSU's D-Line is. Three first rounders, a second round guy, and two fifth rounders imo.
You have the second best OL in the country, and a top notch RB stable.
Can't wait for November 3rd!

i'm not 100% sure what changed but we weren't that good when miles first got here. i know we had a coaching change and an influx of damn good (and hungry) athletes. come to think of it, that'll do it.

No LSU has been blessed in athletes willingness to play SP. LsU picked up Wing who happened to be local, Peterson wanted to play on SP and he was truly a gifted player, TM7 has great instincts and shiftiness to make people miss even though he isn't the fastest.
Les probably doesn't dedicate any more time to that area than many other coaches but the players LSU are better than players other schools have.

Many teams don't play starters on ST, LSU does and that makes them one of the best in the Country. Plus, LSU is stacked, the rest.......frickED

I believe LSU is better on ST for a # of reasons
1. Les realized for the past 3-4 years that when Offense is inept, great Def. and great ST can make up for it.
2. Coach McGaughey's NFL experience has been very important
3. I believe most importantly, it's the players. As was stated earlier, players like PP7, HB7, wing, alleman, jasper etc... are great players and great at what they do
