They all ship like that, terrible driver support from AMD. If you call AMD they'll tell you it's Dell/HP's job to provide the Drivers, if you call them they will tell you it's AMD's job.
Many Envy 17's have the same issues with our 7960m cards (same as a 7970m) and I did the steps I posted above, a full clean system wipe, and installed the latest Beta and CAP, and it's much much better and works fine.

Well I bought my laptop from Ibuypower. It's not from dell or anything. Will these steps still apply to me too? I'm just scared to uninstall because I don't want something to go wrong.
