Grilling outside today on a charcoal pit, any tips on cooking venison?

Marinate it in your go-to marinade for an hour or so.
Sear the backstrap over a hot fire for a couple of minutes, then turn. Repeat and remove strap from fire. Let it settle at room temperature for 10 mints or so and serve medium- rare.
Best way to cook venison, IMO.

Do not over cook whatever you do. Venison is best medium rare by far

What's your favorite way to eat it? I really enjoyed venison fajitas!

When cooking venison steaks on the grill I like to put a layer of 1/2" thick tomato slices on top of the steaks after turning. Let the juices run in them good.
As others have said do not overcook.
