I believe you can do a random ranking for waiver wire, but lots of people like to use FAAB for waivers in auction leagues. Also lends to more skill.


eta: For those that don't know FAAB is free agent acquisition budget. You get say 200 dollars for the year and every week you have a chance to put a max bid on players you want to pick up. After the deadline the players are assigned and then the player pool is just like regular FA pickup till it gets locked again at the end of the week. Some have it where you pay the highest bid and some have it where the highest bid wins but you only pay 1 dollar higher than the 2nd highest bid.
