Probably going to grab some ahi from whole foods and looking to smoke it. Anyone have a good recipe, preferably not a sweet one? I'm also open to other types of fish, I just find salmon too sweet for my taste.

I don't have access to trout unless whole foods sells it.

No its just where I was headed after work. I'm open to other suggestions.. I like ahi and it just seems easier to prepare. I'm not a huge fish fan.

I know how to cook it, I never said otherwise. I usually just baste it with garlic, lemon pepper, and olive oil but it's the only recipe I use since I'm not a huge fan of it. I'm being requested to cook it and want to try something different.

All I can think of is Ruffino's fish done like this

LOVE.

OP: I thought I hated fish for years because my mom would do it like you do. Baked.. flaky.. just lemon and pepper. Blegh. I don't make fish at home because I don't trust myself to do as good a job, but I LOVE a good fish at a restaurant. They always make creative sauces and get perfect textures that I never had at home.

I think it looks good but I'm worried about the brown sugar giving it too much of a sweet taste.

I agree it's a boring recipe. It's really the only way I've ever prepared it though. I'm sometimes too predictable with my cooking.
