Ended up with 9 grouper to go with 12 red snapper and a mangrove.

To the mystery grouper, 35 pounder thay was almost completely charcoal grey. It was much shorter and more broad than the gags we caught. I am still at the camp and on my phone, so a pic is coming soon.

we fished yesterday.....the pogey wouldnt last 5 seconds without a snapper nailing it. couldnt get any mangroves or groupers.

too bad there is a huge shortage of them in the gulf

The rounded tail fin on the mystery grouper eliminates gag or black from the candidates. I'm guessing a small Warsaw grouper?

Looks like a small warsaw. If that is a pointed dorsal fin I see then it is definitely a warsaw.

wtf my louisiana wildlife and fisheries app showed it being closed, we released a few nice ones a few days ago.

Seem to remember last years gag season was like sept and oct or something like that.

That's my ex, boys. She is one that got away. Any other ideas? We were thinking maybe snowy, but it would have been a world record and had no spots.
