I don't know nor do I care what they earn. What little I know about the job tells me that the skill level required is somewhere north of that of maids, ditch diggers and garbage men though.

By definition, the bar is set low to be considered mediocre. Only a union minion would think there is some sort of relativity there. Kind of like letting the slowest kid set the pace for the entire class.
