Do we really expect Man U fans to know what a penalty is? They've benifited from so many bad PK calls its got to be hard for them to separate a legitimate penalty from a gift.

It's all dependent on the ref.

SO. MUCH. CONTACT.

Hard to really blame Valencia though. He knows what's up and United got 3 points because of it. That's why diving will never stop and is now just a part of the game.

I'd like to take a moment to say frick most (edited for not instant reaction anger) united fans, including half of the refs in the EPL.

I cant beleive I heard that stat just now.

"Manchester have missed a penalty in each of their last 3 matches"

What the hell. I mean I don't think arsenal have had 3 matches in a row with penalties called in years, and we're accused of tryin to walk into the goal (meaning lots of possession in the box). And yes I mad. It's just like the replacement officials, integrity of the game etc

Mostly a prepared statement to set up the following sentence about the refs being united fans, you and some others are alright

It makes me wonder if Arsenal had all the breaks from the refs that Man U get in a year, how many more points would we have?

Just saw a still photo on FB of Johnson's challenge on Tony V. It looks like he is pushing him with both hands.

Just watched the match again. Maybe I'm biased, but that's still a penalty. Johnson didn't even argue it that much...contact was made, he went down.

It was a softer penalty, but it was still a penalty. His hands were in his back while he was going for the shot.

Did Valencia start to fall right before it happened? Maybe a little, still hard to tell for me. But Johnson made contact, he went down.

First off, in no way shape or form was that a penalty. Awful call, United fans need to just enjoy the gift but admit it was one. Secondly, I don't feel like going find the link, but there's a website that keeps track of bad refereeing in the EPL and how it affects outcomes i.e. missed out of bounds calls, missed offsides calls, missed pk calls, bad red cards etc. And out of every team in the EPL Arsenal would've had the biggest positive jump in points in the table

Yea could have gone either way. If there was no penalty called I wouldn't have been screaming for one but it's not that bad of a call, if bad at all.

PS Valencia is the fastest human on planet earth.

wut. I know ya'll are a bit biased, but you can go read the Reddit comments from fans of other clubs to get a more neutral opinion if you'd like. I find it hard to believe ya'll are defending the call.

Yea that is why we haven't gotten a pk at home in like almost 2 years. Man U has been getting ridiculous calls for years. Every other fan of any other club will agree. To be a United fan and not admit that yall are almost always on the right side of a call is just silly.

Every time there is a questionable call, most non-United fan will go against us. No surprise.

We get calls a lot, but this wasn't an awful call like you all claim.

Did you see the pic I posted of several United fans that happened to be next to each other in the comments section?

Yeah, I saw that. It was a debatable call. I think it was a penalty, arguments can be made for it not to be one. It wasn't a definite, 100% bad call.

So was it 25% a good call?

Not a PK.

Well, Johnson was completely worn out after being taken out then sprinting back, so I'm not sure that his reaction is relevant.

It was a soft penalty, but I think that's what really pisses people off. Liverpool had a couple PK shouts that were just as good, if not better, particular Evans on Suarez. Week in, week MUFC seemingly get the benefit of the doubt.
