So what? Letterman knew that Leno had a contract as a host for "The Tonight Show" and still tried to push him into oncoming traffic.
At least Leno left Conan with the actual "Tonight Show."
ETA: Of course, what's fricking gold in all of this is how NBC could make the same colossal mistake TWICE.

Didn't Leno have like a 12-18 month contract when he took over? That's hardly firm, that's pretty much up for grabs. Not exactly the same as Leno knowing 5 years in advance Conan was taking over, but he was nice enough to give him 6 months.
