I will be ecstatic if we land Ba. Him and Cisse always seem to impress me when I watch them.

Well that was short lived. Sky Sports is reporting talks with Chelsea and Ba's people was unsuccessful. Some of the rumors say it was his wages, which I can't see. Others say he was told that he'd be second choice striker behind Torres and wasn't promised time. Roman has just decided that ditching Torres is a failure and he will not admit failure. That's a bad road to be headed down.

Well who is next then? We have to have another option up top to give Torres a rest or in case he gets hurt.

Who knows. There are so many ridiculous names that are linked to Chelsea in every transfer window.

No kidding, but we aren't going to get anyone of quality when we continue to run out a striker that struggles. I like Torres, I want him to do well, and he has been better since Rafa took over. The problem is he is still a shell of himself and it's painfully obvious that he will never be close to that again. Ba made so much sense. In fact, it made so much sense that it doesn't surprise me that it's not going to happen.

Hard to know exactly what's going on/being said behind the scenes but right now we have no choice but to keep running him out there because we don't have anyone else.

I too would love to see Ba at Chelsea btw.

That's Roman's fault. Again, we won't ever get a "Chelsea quality" striker to come in when Roman continuously caters to Torres.

There goes my morning... Though then again it took me several attempts to bring in Ba on Fifa Manager. Maybe it is more realistic than anyone thought.

I don't see Roman bringing in any first rate strikers now. Only backup guys. He still wants to rely on Torres when it counts. Don't ask me why.

Chelsea will reportedly hold further talks with Demba Ba's agent this week.

Alvaro Negredo, Taison, Lazar Markovic, David Villa, Gonzolo Higuain, Andre Schurrle, Falcao, Demba Ba.

Don't forget Lukaku coming back.

One of those I would imagine.

Some slapdick on reddit started a thread asking why Ba when we could recall Lukaku from loan? Really?

Especially when lukaku doesn't want to return currently.

The only thing I did find encouraging is Rafa has told Torres that he's bringing in another striker so he can rest him up. That was Torres is prepared and the new guy gets a shot. :PleaseBeBa

We need to sign ba before he gets cup tied. This move makes too much sense for it to fall through.

Could matter a ton. Why recall someone who doesn't want to return to the bench. Let him keep his spirits high and continue his progression in a regular playing role.
