No matter what the reason, he has been a poor goal scorer in the EPL so far. Hopefully it's just a coincidence. Take a look at his end of the season numbers:

10% chance conversion - second worst in the PL
232 minutes per goal
Hit the woodwork 8 times
38% of his shots on target (that weren't goals) were saved low and center

Like I said, hopefully it was just an off year. The guy scored at will for Ajaz and does the same for Uruguay. He either had an off year in the EPL, or the competition is forcing him to take higher contested shots.

Reminds me of Maxi. God please don't turn into Maxi, Luis.

I'm chalking his abysmal stats in England last year up to the complete shite show that was our offensive attack for most of the season. When Suarez was alone up top, before Big Andy came on towards the end of the season, we either did one of two things. Long balled it and hoped Suarez could get behind the last defender, knock down the ball, and then beat his man and/or the keeper 2 on 1...or if we actually mounted an attack the 5 mids we always seemed to have on the pitch would pass it to Luis and then stand and watch as he tried to dribble through 4 defenders in the box. I guarantee you will see better results this year from a true pass and move approach.
