I don't know if people here are being sarcastic but I thought Enrique was a beast. He thoroughly deserved the MOTM. Had Oscar and Hazard in his pocket for pretty much all of the match. His performance has improved since returning to the team. He obviously had some problems with his knee towards the beginning of the season.

I didn't get to watch, but I remember BR talking about how his style will keep the team in matches even when they aren't playing well because of the control of the ball and flow of the match. Is that what happened yesterday? Because from all I can figure from the comments being made is that we didn't play well and still got the draw. If so thats encouraging in itself. I still don't know why people hate Suarez so much. He's electric and it's like people are putting all their hate of diving on him alone. it doesn't make sense. And the racism stuff is all projection. I'm not a racist but look at Luis! Whatever.

Well we didn't do anything substantial in the attacking third in the first half but the second half BR substituted Sahin for Suso and made some changes in the formation Allen dropped back a little deeper I thought and Sterling moved more to the right wing whereas he started the game more central. Second half we played much better and had at least two clear cut game winning chances after Luis' equalizer. So we could have won it.

Well Allen was certainly poor. Sahin was nonexistent. We did have a good bit of possession, the problem was our width was offered only between Johnson and Enrique. The attacking 3 just played way too narrow. Ramirez and Mikel sat deep and were destroying whatever came into the center as soon as it did, mainly because our wing backs couldn't beat their men.

Oscar and Mata offer little defensive support so we should have exploited that. Brendan switched to a 4-4-2, or 4-4-1-1, and matching midfielders man for man, we immediately took advantage of that lack of CAM defensive help. This gave us the foothold we needed.

At least that's my two cents and what I observed. It is refreshing though to see Plan B's that work from Brendan. He's proven he's a tactical mastermind, as he's consistently made the changes we've needed during games.

Nobody said he wasn't good yesterday. I hate him period because he slows down the run of play to a painful level. The system is designed to be up tempo, and Enrique needs to get a fricking clue. He allows the opposition to get settled into their own half, especially on counter-attacks, and seemingly REFUSES to just play a simple pass on the ground. He had a good defensive game, but was utterly atrocious going forward. He often lost the ball in key situations that we would have been punished for against more clinical teams. His pass % was the lowest among starting outfield players, he lost possession more than any player on either team AND he touched the ball 20+ more times than Allen, Sahin or Gerrard, which is quite disturbing.

Read an interview with him today where he said he is hopeful to play this weekend.

Hopefully the first report was bullshite. You never know with Agger though. Most fragile hard man around.

I am hoping Agger's injury turns out to be minor. Also I can't wait for Lucas to come back fully fit. It feels like it has been so long since Lucas bossed the midfield around.

What is the timeline for his return? Hopefully he isn't rushed, but it seems like his 6-8 weeks should have ended by now.

I thought so too. I thought it was supposed to come around the end of the first week in November.

So there's a benefit here in Philly that I'm going to be going to in a couple weeks. Jamie Carragher's match-worn jersey for his 700th Pool cap is one of the items they've got to bid on.
