I like Williams as a third choice CB. He can play the ball really well, which is what we need, and seems decent defensively. I thought Chico was the better CB for Swansea, but I liked the way Williams played. He would fit into our side more seamlessly than Mertesacker, who is an embarrassingly bad passer out of the back. If we pay 10m for him, it will be way too much though.

Koscielny has been so good the last couple of months that I don't see any way TV5 gets back into the line-up. He won't be happy being third choice, so if we do buy Williams it will mean the end of TV5, I think. On paper, a partnership between Kos and TV5 sounds awesome. They are both fast, ball playing CB's with decent aerial abilities. But TV5 is a positional nightmare, though he is a good player, if that makes any sense. If he could fix his positioning, he might make his way back into the side. But I think Wenger is ready to cut his losses.

this is pretty much how i feel. he's not a terrible player but nothing exciting. other than the attempted murder on RvP. was hoping for someone like young and exciting like Ogbonna.

the other possibility, which i don't think is likely because of his mental lapses/positional awareness, is training TV5 as a DM. if that doesn't happen, any CB purchase means he'll be on his way out.

after he has been linked to ManU for forever, i'm starting to see us linked with Strootman. don't really have an opinion on him, haven't watched him enough, but if ManU want him and he's a DLP, I would not mind. crazy (or Beast, though I doubt you'll want to give us some ideas for signings ) you watch more from the other leagues. any DLP/DM targets you would be interested in? i know we've discussed DMs previously but I've slept since then.

speaking of DMs, how about M'Vila having sex with a 15yo prostitute? what a train wreck his career has become. sad to see.

If we get Williams, Sanogo and Jovetic, we will be off to a pretty solid start this summer. I'd cream my pants if the midfielder we were getting would be someone like Kevin Strootman. I suppose I would be happy with Gonalons as well, but I'd rather Strootman. I wonder whether we should be targeting another attacking midfielder. I suppose Jovetic can play right behind the striker, but he isn't a midfielder, and we'd have to change our shape to accommodate him, or return to that 4-4-1-1 shape we started the season with.

I'm looking forward to seeing who leaves. Lots of dross on this roster.

They are essentially the same player. Kos git caught up in the newcastle game just like verm did all season. Verm was prob being asked to attack and be the distributor out the back. Thing is he sucked at that this season.

If verm wants to stay, let.him. we will need more than 3 cbs. Also, why not slide sagna inside if we keep him. Not to start obviously, but some players have mad the transition when they didnt have the legs to constantly attack and defend. Could be a back up on the rt and center.

This obviously is all contingent on the current players feelings on being a role player and if arsenal can get a guy they want at the price they want.

Finances will play a big role, but i dont want to spend money and replace current players with inferior players. We will be rt back struggling for a cl spot.
