Liverpool is in its current state because of owners who have driven multiple franchises into the ground.
So... like Stan who owns the Rapids and the Rams?

No. I don't know Stan's history, but he runs Arsenal responsibly.
Hicks took over LFC two years after a CL victory, and in the 3 or 4 years in which he owned the club, nothing was won, hundreds of millions in debt were piled on, a stadium was not built, the club almost went into administration and he ended up leaving LFC in the relegation zone. On top of that, our spending was barely positive, he had public arguments with Rafa, his son had to be removed from the board after sending a letter to a fan saying "blow me frick face and die" or something along those lines, and we brought in players like Milan Jovanovic and fricking Paul Konchesky. Paul fricking Konchesky.
Rafa details a lot in his new book. He was told he had x amount for transfers, but then was given nothing once negotiations began. He says over and over how Jovetic was to be brought in as cover for Torres, and the owners agreed to buy him, and then just ignored all contact when the time came.
So, no, I wouldn't say the two situations are all that similar.
