To give you an idea the amount of importance attached to the confed cup outside the USA, I watched the games that you're referring to, and I just forgot about them. I lived in London for 27 years. It's just a glorified kickabout, it's a series of friendlies with a trophy at the end. In terms of importance, it's WC, regional trophy and then nothing.
