To those who care about all sports at LSU…
We hired new assistant gym coach- could be a real good hire. Former UGA head/asst (took over HC after UGA won 10 NC’s and 16 SEC’s!) LSU has been in bottom half of 7 team sec for 10 of last 12 years and no SEC title in over 30 years. I think hire will be plus for recruiting and could get us in top 2-3 of SEC with chance to win it. I am not sure why he did not win at UGA as HC, but seems a good hire. To those of you who don’t care fine, but IF we are going to have a team, we mine as well be among best in SEC. I think this hire can help us get there. For those of you who follow the sport, like to hear your thoughts. Again, not in same world as FB, Baseball etc., but still something I would like to see us win at.

What is the story behind why he left UGA to come to LSU to be an assistant?
Have they dropped off a bunch recently? What happened for him to leave?

Jay Clark, who spent the last three seasons as head coach at Georgia, has joined the LSU gymnastics staff as an assistant coach, head coach D-D Breaux announced Sunday.

They missed NCAA for 1st time since 1983 and missed super six while he was there (3 years), but I think he is known for recruiting and following the best coach in the sport is tough. Sure others know more than me.

He followed a legend and he just may usher out the current LSU HC, who has sat on the program for years. It is amazing, how we have paid a high sum for some of these revenue consuming HC's but "seemingly" have no accountability or expectations.
DD Breaux should retire and after 37 years, she "won" an SEC-C, in 1986, when three or four schools competed.....NOTHING since...and don't think there was not ample talent.

Yeah, I'm not trying to say he sucks or anything. It just seems weird that he resigned with 2 years left on his contract and I didn't know if there was a story behind it (burned out, health issues, etc.) or if the school forced the resignation. With 17 years at the school seems like he wouldn't be booted so quickly.
Some people are better suited to be an assistant so they can focus on teaching and recruiting and not have to deal with the demands of being a HC. There is no shame in that.

When John Brady flat-out yells at you out loud & calls you a biatch with a straight face, and EVERYONE in the room realizes its probably one of the most level-headed, straightfoward and accurate things he's ever said, you know you're crap.
If you look up ball buster in the dictionary, a picture of her smiling face should stare back at you. She's insufferable on an Administrative and personal level according to all accounts. The smile she puts on and saccharine dripping out of that voice of hers on one of the rare few occasions when a camera is on her are complete acts.
Crazy thing here is: I'm not even close to over-exaggerating.

The Super Six didn't even exist until the early 90s...LSU did finish in the top 6 at nationals prior to this, however.
Back to the topic at hand...Jay Clark is an outstanding hire...I'm so pumped that Alleva stepped up to allow this hire...Clark was part of 7 NCAA team titles while at UGA...he is an outstanding recruiter with strong ties in the JO community...
The future looks bright indeed...Geaux Tigers!!!
