From what I've seen it looks like minter, barrow and Jones will start come September but my question I want ur opinion on is that do you think we could switch out linebackers the way we do with our D-line? I know it's a crazy thing to think about but with the incoming talent at LB we have, maybe not this year but next could y'all see this happening?
Deon "debo" Jones looks like a damn ANIMAL. Really like him and early enrollees Louis and the way fiest took Hillard down in big cat blew me away. Kwon Alexander seems very promising and I like him a lot as well as Melvin Jones(2013).

Anyways I know it's a crazy question but what do y'all think?? Thaxx

I think Muncie is a much better player than LSU fans think. He will almost certainly be the #4 linebacker (first guy off the bench behind Jones or Barrow).

As to the freshmen, there is no doubt that Feist and Louis have an early lead - just because they were early enrollees. But that advantage will melt away by the time Spring 2013 rolls around.

Seriously, it is really difficult to try to figure out which of those 6 incoming freshmen are going to win starting jobs down the road. And of course, I am hopeful that we won't be overly concerned about this until the 2014 season (with Minter, Barrow, Jones, and Muncie manning the ranks in 2012 and 2013).

Yes. If the coaches trust that those players understand the defensive calls and can make the tackles then I can easily see rotation of LBs. The only positions that hardly rotate is QB and LT. OL don't usually rotate much because it depends on chemistry but you could substitute hear and there.

Don't forget about Lorenzo Phillips.

In a few years, the LB position could become a position of strength with great depth, which would be a pleasant change.

No, you dont sub in LBs like you do with DL. They have play as a cohesive unit with each other as well as the DBs. LBs have alot more to learn about the defense than Dlinemen do and that learning curve is going to keep some talented guys off the field awhile because the older guys know the defense.

it will begin next year.

Lamar Louis, Feist, Debo Jones and Kwon will be animals. I'm not sure about phillips yet, never really saw much film on him other than rushing the passer.

I suspect that LSU is going to make minced meat of some of their opponents and guys will get a chance to play.
The better LSU does early, the more likely the bench is cleared.
If they keep their focus when they are up by 21 early, then it will allow the coaches to give every possible variation a tryout in real life. More fun for everyone.

Kind of reminiscent of Trev Faulk and Brady James days
