I remember a couple people, maybe B$B and/or Boats that said they have bio degrees and what not and wanted a shout when there was an opening, so here they are.

Biologist Lacombe

Biologist Baton Rouge

Theres a couple other wildlife technician spots as well, and I can post them if need be.

frick if I know, best bet I guess would be to try and get on with some of these temp/probational jobs and then get moved to permanent status, and become a supervisor and all.

The thing with state govt' work is that you usually have to start out on the bottom and work your way up no matter your quals.

For the hippie at heart, there is a full time caretaker job open on Admiralty island for someone with mechanical ability and has experience boating. 1,400 sq miles of island, nearly 2,000 brown bears and about 700 people, most in one native village. If I were a young buck I would do it. I have done it a couple winters up north.
