Besides a strip club. My family is wanting to go to South LA for the 4th and catch some but dont know where to go. Any help would be appreciated. Also what baits is your favorite.

Anywhere along Hwy 1 from Fourchon to Grand Isle should be good.

There's a good place in LaCombe down Lake Rd.

Where abouts are you going to be?

Good luck finding a spot on the 4th.

Go to a nice motel.
Let the kids swim.
Got out to a nice restaurant and order crabs.

You never answered the question. Where exactly in South LA are you going? This is quite an important detail if you'd like us to help you find a good spot to go crabbing.

If you're coming to the NOLA Area, Go to Lacombe and hit Lake Road. Lots of crabbing from the side of the road there.

I'm going to take the soup kitchen bathroom for the final answer.

We always crap in Pontchartrain. Haven't been in at least a year, but we could usually go about 2 hours and come back with at lest 2 or 3 dozen. Never caught below 2.

For baits we use turkey necks, or chicken legs. Turkey necks work better though.
