Plan is to trade up their 14 and 16 picks with Toronto and Sacramento for 5 and 8 (I think). Then send those two picks plus Lowry maybe to Orlando.

I know this is a longshot--thoughts?

They will trade players plus picks to Toronto and Sac. Houston has a lot of good players, just none great, obviously. IMO they don't need to draft any players, but be in the hunt for vets, which is exactly what they're doing. Morey is the best in the biz.

This is wrong. Toronto wants Lowry. If they move up, hes going to the team that they trade up with.

will they have any of these 'quality pieces' left if they make these moves to get Dwight?

It'll be like an upgraded Orlando Magic team for Dwight in an even harder conference. 1st-2nd round outage?

The plan would be to sign DWill or Nash. would prefer to sign Dragic, trade Lowry, and keep the picks.

And what else is Toronto and Sacramento going to get from Houston in exchange for trading down?

Rockets will probably trade Dalembert and Martin for the picks.

It was on ESPN. They've got the assets to get the lottery picks but I'm not sure the Magic would bite on that trade. Also don't know why Houston would want to do it though because they don't have a good chance to keep Howard longterm.

I think the thought is if we can land Dwight, then D-Will might come here too. I know, I know--he said Dallas or NJ, but if Howard is here, that could be different...

Dwight is preparing to bitch and moan accordingly. Houston =/= NY, NJ or LA and doesn't have any stars he can play James/Wade Paul/Griffin with.

I feel like there is less than 1% chance of this happening, though I'll give Morey props for taking his best shot once again. Can't fault him for trying.

No Lowry to Toronto. But #14, #16, Lowry, Dalembert, and Martin are definitely enough assets to get the two lottery picks they want.

But Howard won't sign an extension with Houston so no way Williams would try to follow a guy who's going to leave.

yeh, that's a hell of a longshot.

not that Morrey can't make it happen with trading players and shifting picks, but Dwight staying longterm. hmmm.

should make Thursday interesting regardless.

it's crazy, the Rockets are legit West Contender with one good big, but seems like they are willing to trade away all these quality players to get one. then what.
