we'd have the same problem with DCs if we hire a top notch Offensive guy and pay for a DC.

Yeah, it's a pick your poison situation.

I think the Bama game was a perfect example of trying to outscheme athleticism and it backfiring. With Knile we have a completely different offensive team. We really needed Wingo to not be a bitch that game, but the whole team pissed their pants and got Tyler destroyed.

On D I'm not sure which is easier to do, recruit to cover scheme deficiences, or schemee to cover recruiting deficiencies.

I think as a fanbase we just can't imagine changing offensive philosophies every couple of years. We've basically been a revolving door of DC's for the last 14 years but have had a grand total of two guys calling plays for us since 1998. I doubt there is many schools in the country that can say that.
