Great. The guy with the best odds I've never even heard of. Hooray for Arkansas Football!

Charlie Strong would be the great move to hire. London would be a pretty good move to hire. Realistically I dont see Peterson coming. Yeah you want to call and make them tell you No, but you also cant call the other top Candidates too far down the list. Sometimes you have to cut your losses. And would Franklin leave for another in conference team? I mean it has been done before but its not very common at all. He has the attitude of an SEC coach though so I will give him that.

Briles is a "safe" hire. Maybe the safest hire we could make. There will be no shenanigans, he's got the TX recruiting connections, his offensive system is a stupid spread but it will be able to capitalize on the talent we have on the roster right now. He's my leader as of now. Of course Jeff Long will play it very close to the vest like he always does so there's no true information, and as you all know there are no such things as insiders with Arkansas athletics. However, JLS might let something slip on twitter.

Briles would be a good hire, and he would help with the Texas connection. I agree with the previous statement that he probably is not cutthroat enough for the league though. If it is any consolation though, he already hates Texas A&M. LINK

For the record, Rick Barnes has removed his name from consideration.

He's already withdrawn his name from all the basketball jobs. Needs something to withdraw his name from these days since no one's calling.

No way. Strong is one of the best recruiters in the country and a hell of a defensive mind. Get a good offensive coordinator in place and he might actually be able to build off Petrino's success instead of the inevitable decline most are expecting.
Strong = 7-6, 7-6 at Louisville. Petrino = 9-4, 11-1, 9-3, 12-1 at the same school with less experience. Comparatively, we don't want Strong...

Art Briles -- Current Baylor head coach. Career record of 25-25. Briles started Houston's resurgence, and uplifted Baylor to nearly reaching national prominence and recruited the past Heisman Trophy winner RGIII to traditionally lowly Baylor. +'s He's a very astute christian man, which would be a great fit for tBeacon and it's Bible Belt fanbase. He's plugged in with Texas HS having spent his entire career in TX. -'s Arkansas is trying to become a national brand recruiting coast to coast and internationally. Briles has had meh success and may not be the cut-throat type that it takes to succeed in the SEC these days. Briles has a legit chance at the job and would be a legit choice. This is who I think you will get. He is a good solid coach. I would much rather see Arky get someone of a lesser caliber as they move forward with their intense rivalry with Mizzou.....

This is an extremely deceiving stat. Petrino took over a Louisville team that was 27-11 in the prior three seasons with two conference championships. Strong took over a Louisville team that was 15-21 the prior three seasons and coming off two straight years of going 1-6 in conference. You really can't compare the two based off records because their situations that they walked in to were completely different.
