what part of this is twisted logic?

Well, let's see. First you say this:
quote:

I'm not going to measure the success of a program off a team who has had the best 3 year stretch in college baseball. That is unrealistic expectations for all college baseball teams.
Unrealistic for every team except USC, because they've actually done it. So by your own definition, it's obviously not unrealistic.
quote:

I think we should say ok here is the state of our program and this is what should happen this year.

Like make the postseason every year? Because we haven't don't that under Mainieri. Like host a regional every year? Hasn't happened either. Again, by your own definition, if we look at the state of LSU's program (a program that has accomplished more success in the past 25 years than any other team), then we aren't really meeting those expectations.
quote:

But don't judge the state of a program based on what another team is doing, judge the sate of a program off of what it has done and what it should have done.

Why shouldn't we judge LSU's program against the other teams in the SEC? Isn't that our most pressing competition? If we aren't to judge them against our most immediate competitors, who should we measure success against? Just place each team in a vacuum and ignore all other considerations?

Besides, you want to judge the current state of LSU's program against "what it has done"? As in the 1990s? If that's the case, we are failing miserably.

So, yeah, a lot of what you said doesn't make sense to me.

One has to question how USCe is getting all those recruits on their campus. Are they just doing a better job at evaluating projected players who can develop in CFB and won't be high picks?

Do they have a hitting coach?

A very good one, who was infinitely more qualified when he was hired compared to Sanchez.

But staying on topic...

LSU overachieved this year. Let's be realistic. Nobody expected them to win the SEC.

They did a good job this season. We're simply not that talented when comes to our hitting lineup. We should be better next year assuming everybody develops and Bregman can come in with a decent bat(as expected). But you'd have to think Rhymes is going to decline in production. Going to be hard to top what he did this year...

bottom line is, Javicopter has got to go!!! You don't get a chance to "grow up" as a coach at LSU!

Not a Javi fan either and I think that's the big problem with LSU right now. It's coaching. Don't give a shite what PM says about a overrated hitting coach. Is Javi recruiting these guys now? Is helping with evaluations? Is he running us out of innings?

Javi ain't going nowhere unless LSU has a horrible season and PM needs a scapegoat. Other than that, only way Javi is going anywhere:

1.) somebody dumb enough to hire him as HC

2.) LSU forces PM's hand to fire him

No, it really was just a joke. Everybody wanted Stony Brook's hitting coach and they don't even have one.
