Just starting to get into soccer and need help

I'm really starting to like soccer and appreciate the game. The only problem is I don't know who to follow and pull for. I've hear English Premier League and La Liga are the best. What is a good team to follow and what is the best way to follow them since soccer isn't on TV as much.
Also, any other tips for a new soccer fan?

Turn on the tv in 15 minutes and watch the second half of the best national side in the world beat down the greeks.

1. Don't become a Liverpool fan.
2. Support the USMNT.
3. Follow all rules that I have listed.

When I was a newbie about 15 year ago, I found watching the matches with knowledgeable, spirited fans was the best way to learn and enjoy. If you can, find a local pub that caters to football/soccer fans.

This. Once you start watching enough games, your team will find you.

This. Also reading threads on here will help. I started following the EPL for the first time this past season. Watched a good amount of games and highlights and talked on the board about it. Ended up becoming a Swansea fan because I liked their style of play.
You will also hate some players and in turn not like that team as well (looking at Luis Suarez)

Good man. If you have homosexual feelings towards Stuart Holden, that is completely normal and encouraged here.

When the season rolls back around watch some of the games. Like other posters have said, eventually you'll develop an affinity for a club or two.
