re: anyone recommend a poison for coyotes?

i know someone that had a problem with coyotes killing calves, they busted a bunch of glass bottles into medium size shards and mixed it with hamburger meat. they made a bunch of patties and tossed them out around the property one night. next morning the patties were gone and 2 days later the coyotes were gone too. very cruel way to deal with it, i would prefer to shoot em.
