That's called doing business. Hard to hate on a guy for protecting his own bottom-line.
That said, I've disliked the show from its onset. Sure there may be some historical references from time to time but I'm not tuning in to sift through the BS just to find an occasional bit of history.

I hate how the expert is like this thing is valued at say $5000 and then they offer $1200. Like c'mon you jut heard the guy it's crazy. They could make a legitimate offer and still make profit.

This is how pawn shops operate. The ones that don't low ball the frick out of people don't last.
It's about the only "real" aspect of the show.
