Looks awesome. How long did it take to build? Seems like you could knock it out in a day or two

Just went back and read it, and those plans are very direct.

re: Built my own Cowboy/County/Coonass Cooler...

Someone asked earlier how to age wood quickly... I'm building a table and my wife wants it to look like weathered wood. I found several references to making a vinegar & steel wool concoction like this

I've also seen people say to stain the piece with strong brewed black tea then use this mix.

I saw this a while back, that looks bad ass. I am building some over the summer for gifts. I have build pirogues, duck boats and made knives. I get bored and move on. Maybe this will keep my attention, if not it looks fun to build.

I have the ability...I can trade ability for money. I actually have one about half finished in the corner that I never got around to.

The more accurate the measurements the tighter it will fit in the frame. I'm using 2x2s for the framing, so I'll add 3" to the measurements, each way.
Don't understand this. Why not 4 inches? 2+2??

Also, how did you account for the depth of the ice chest. You really threw me with your measurements when you dropped those 2X2's under it.

Because wood is retarded. Most all common cuts of wood are roughly 0.5" smaller than listed. So a 2x4 is actually more like. 1.5x3.5. Same applies with the 2x2 used, they actually measure ~ 1.5x1.5.

ETA: just saw your second question but I'm not quite sure I understand what you're asking.

if you are using 2x2, don't assume they are 1.5"
