He was safe at first, but then slid off of the bag, when the second tag was applied

Snik is the worst and slowest baserunner on the team. It figures this would happen to him.

He wasn't picked off.

The catcher tried to throw catch him out stealing.

Runner was safe.

Player tagged him claiming hand was off base, umpo didn't see his foot one was on and blew the call.

In no way was he "picked off"

It seemed pretty clear from TV that what really happened was that the 2nd base ump didn't realize that it was ball 4 and called him out thinking it was a straight steal attempt. When it was made known to him that it was a walk, he fell back on the whole "getting off the bag like taking a lead" BS.

Even the SB pitcher and infield couldn't believe it. They kept waiting around like they thought they'd put him back on base.

It may be the correct call but it was a chicken
---- call. Had the runner known that ball four
had been called he could have stopped running
and walked, at his leisure, to second base with
no problem. But simply because he didn't know
and was trying to steal, he slid past the bag
and was called out was pure BS by the ump.
