Will this year be that we don't have that one player that every one seems to pick on?

I think it might be that year, but a LB seems to be the position that would most likely be that player. But, I think this will turn out to be one of the best LB crews LSU has had, as there is more experience and talent than may be thought.

I think our roster is so stacked across the board, and there does not seem to be that coaches favorite player that makes us all scratch our collective heads.

This is going to be a special team.

Tough to find potential scapegoats on this team right now - no one jumps out at me.

On offense:
- If Clement shows to have unreliable hands, he will get quite a bit of negative attention. This is because we reportedly have no other TE on our roster who can catch the ball - and therefore our staff really has no alternatives.

- Mettenberger, just because the hype/expectations are so high. I am afraid that for many LSU fans, merely being better than Jarrett Lee isn't gonna be good enough. And keep in mind that if Lee had accumulated enough attempts in 2011, he would have led the SEC in Passing Efficiency.

On defense:
- Simon, who IMO is the guy most-likely to disappoint in 2012. I see many guys on this and other sites praising him, and stating very high expectations. But frankly, I haven't seen what they are seeing. No doubt, he excels at defending the deep ball, and opposing teams would be wise to avoid trying to throw over the top of him. But the flip side of that is I do not like his lack of aggression defending short and medium range passes. He gives up easy catches for too often for my tastes.

- Our three main outside linebackers (Jones, Barrow, and Muncie). Even though I don't think many LSU fans have real high expectations for them, but the fact that so many fans are overly-enamored with the 6 true freshmen linebckers coming in, I expect to see plenty of calls to "Stop playing upper-classmen over more-talented youngsters!!!!"
