Sorry for bringing this back up but I forgot to comment on this yesterday. I am not sure how many states recognize AL's CC permit. LA is the most recognized with around 45 or so states. Will I be traveling to all of those states, no. However, I know that the entire Gulf coast and east coast is approved to LA CCL friendly.
Not that this makes up for the difference in price but it takes a bit of the sting away. Now if you tell me that AL is recognized by 44 states and is almost the same as LA, I might shite a brick.

LA is recognized by 38. AL is recognized by 24 states. The fact that AL does not uniformly require any specific training/education probably works against it as far as reciprocity w/ other states.
