Did it reach it's peak in the 80's? What's better than a synthesizer and sax solo? Am I wrong that you just don't here a good sax in a tune nowadays?

(inspired by The Lost Boys thread on M/TV board)

Tim Cappello(Epic Sax Man) - I Still Believe<---awesomeness beyond words

Foreigner - Urgent

Duran Duran - Rio

Segar - Turn the Page

You should listen to jazz. Much of it has sax.

Clarence Clemmons' solo in "Jungleland."
Bobby Keys did a good job for the Rolling Stones as well.

St Elmo's Fire

Man In Motion

synth
electronic drums
horns
it just needs someone playing a key-tar.

Baker Street is the best but technically 70s.

Quarterflash - Take Me to Heart and Harden My Heart are two of my favorite songs from that time and feature the sax.

Here's some others that came to mind and they are all 80s.

Sade - Smooth Operator
Spandau Ballet - True
Oingo Boingo - Dead Man's Party
OMD - If You Leave
Cameo - Candy
Wang Chung - Dance Hall Days
Madness - It Must Be Love
David Bowie - Modern Love
Patrice Rushen - Forget Me Nots
Men At Work - Who Can It Be Now?
George Thorogood - Bad to the Bone
Rick James - Super Freak (Blow, Derrick!)
INXS - Never Tear Us Apart
