any tips on creating a slime spawner?

Now that Xbox has pistons, I want to create a slime spawner to help me collect slime balls.

I've watched some videos online and it seems simple. Dig to bed rock, create a room 50 by 50 that is well lit.

Sometimes one large one will spawn down there and give me nothing. Other times I can be down for a half an hour and nothing.

I've spent a frick ton of time creating this and I've got a total of 5 slime balls.

the frick?

Slimes can be hard to find. There's only a one in ten chance that a chunk can even spawn them.

If you're trying to collect a lot of slimes like that, find a slime first so you know you're in an area that can spawn them, and then clear out your room and light it up.

In slime chunks, they spawn at level 40 and below in any light level, but the chance that a hostile mob is a slime is a lot smaller than the chance that'll be a skeleton, zombie, etc. That's why you'd light up the room...so that slimes are the only type of hostile mob that can spawn.

And I've never done multiplayer before, but my name is WhiteLobster on there
