I'm fairly new to them. I just listened to their greatest hits and I was blown away.
Don't know if there are many on here, but would really like opinions on this band.

scenes from a memory.
octavarium.
two masterpieces.
if you liked the heavier music, and less of the progressive stuff. check out train of thought, and awake.

I am almost through Octavarium. I think Panic Attack is my favorite song by them.

John Petrucci is the shite. This band has got to be the best collection of musicians on the planet. For proof, watch their DVD, Live At Budokan. Album: Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence.

yes. completely forgot about that album. that album is every bit as progressive as anything they have done. but the arse end of scenes from a memory really separates them from regular prog bands...

If you feel up to the challenge bro let's get an EDH game going over skype. My modified mirror mastery deck will wreck you.

I used to obsessed with this band until I started to appreciate music more for feeling and atmosphere and less so about how good the musicians can wank their instruments.

I wish they would get a better singer!
