I have a 2 year old Dell...it's decent I guess. I like how they let you put in the hardware you want. If you get a PC just get a damn good warranty. It's 3 for 3 on bailing me out with laptop problems (though only a keyboard button has fallen off on this computer so far which is good - a Dell guy came to my house and replaced the whole keyboard). I have a Lenovo work laptop, and it's not bad either. I think bang for your buck if you go for anything Asian you could save some coin. That's what I was told anyway when I was shopping for a Dell. Lenovo, Acer, Toshiba, Samsung, Sony, etc.

I plan on doing extensive excel, PP, etc on it and any user friendly suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Seriously, ANY laptop you buy these days will run Microsoft Office, surf the web, and check email just fine.

Apple products are not the best bang for your buck as you will overpay for the apple logo on the product. I've got an HP and have had it for 5 or 6 years with very little maintenance. The only problems i've had are from how rough I am on it.

If you want to use Excel a lot dont get a mac.
If you arent going to use Excel a lot, get a mac.
I have one of both for this very purpose.

Thanks for all the responses, i'm going to probably go with a Lenovo or this LINK
I really like the laptops with the keypad considering i use that much more frequently than the strip on top. On top of that i like the keyboard itself close together rather than sprawled out.
Thanks for all the input guys.

Keyboard on top is the worst. Laptops are hard to work on.

Did you check the link? The laptop has a keypad to the side just like on a desktop.
Or are you referring to something else?
It's a bit large so it might be rougher for class, but i think overall it'd be a better investment.

No I was just commenting in general, not on your laptop choice.

Looks nice. Some people prefer intel to AMD processors. I have AMD and honestly don't know the difference.
One thing I always check out is if the fan outlet is on the side or bottom, since I've had laptop overheating issues on an old laptop.
Other than that the fast start and battery life looks good on it.
