Oh ok, I was wondering where you were going with that. I think he's just a quirky guy who refused to play any of the ESPN rolls, and isn't very reactionary to what happened the day before. Colin Cowherd sees one baseball game and thinks it changes EVERRRYTHING.

I knew Howie Cosell personally, and you sir, are NO Howard Cosell!!!

Here's the truth some whipper snappers may not know. Cosell himself is "overrated" (although I hate to ever use that term).

Cosell was Cosell. He was great, by God, the man was great... at certain things. He was at least half entertainer and less than half objective journalist.

The man was not a fan of the truth, but he could spin a narrative of half truths better than anybody.

He would not have done well in the 24 hour sports news cycle of today. The kind of in-depth analysis that Van Pelt does is not something that Cosell could do.

So, by that measure, perhaps SVP IS actually able to hold Cosell's jock - holding the jock of the quintessential jock sniffer of all time.
