We never got full credit for the Florida Series. All you heard about that Series was the guy not tagging up and that's why they lost. That run would only have tied that game and apparently the Sunday game never occurred.

Awesome. You think if we lose the SC series we're gonna snag a SR? I don't think those wins will matter a whole bunch to the committee at that point. This weekend was about the worst thing that could have happened. If we had won it, we probably get a SR even with a series loss at SC. Now...?

Why do people overreact so much to one weekend of baseball? Pitching was good, hitting was bad this weekend. It's baseball, it happens. If Goody keeps that one pitch down in the 9th we win the series and we're not even having this conversation. So now that we dropped one series that we shouldn't have, we're not the team that we thought we were? It's kind of like all the people overreacting to losing to Appy St. Although we didn't have any business losing a home series to them, they're not nearly as bad as everyone was assuming they were. They're actually ranked in the Top 25 now.

I'm sure we won't. ..but you basically give us no chance at all to win at SC...we had no chance to win at fla either...

Pitching was good? Outside of Gausman? Which pitcher? Nola with 9 hits and 2 hit batters in 5.1? Eades? overreacting?. We win the Vandy series and we basically coast into a SR. Now we put ourselves into a situation where we have to win on the road. I think many are just frustrated at the blown opportunity to seal the deal.

I can sympathize with that. But to say that we may not be the team we thought we were after one mediocre weekend is overreacting to me. And you're right, pitching wasn't necessarily good as Gausman's terrific effort Friday night skewed the overall weekend pitching numbers. However, we pitched well enough to win the series. And we were one Goody mistake pitch away from doing just that.

I'll agree with that. We've overcome similiar "poor" outings this season by winning close games. Given the opponent and the situation at hand along with the road opponent next weekend and the loss just becomes tough to handle. Good news is the team will probably respond better than the fans.

Nobody thought we'd play like we did vs Ark and Fla. We'll need that sort of performance again this weekend. Raph will need to be Raph again. A couple other guys will need to deliver clutch hits. Some middle relief pitching will need to be solid if Eades is still out of sorts. Goody will have to come back with a mean streak. And Lord....please heal Ty Ross. Amen.

If this team doesn't win 2 out of 3 at SC, which you know will be very difficult to win one, then if we win a possible regional here then we do not host a super unless we win the SEC tournament.

What do you think this team is? Its not a National championship team and I dont even think they are a CWS team. We do not have the talent all around.

Why can't it be a National Championship team? And seeing as how we've been ranked in the Top 8 most of the season, I sure as hell think we can make a CWS run.

We've got one of best, if not the best, ace in the nation and Nola may be young, but he's capable of going out and pitching a gem on any given night. Our #3 starter is more than suspect, but our bullpen is one of the best in the nation. Our closer has been the best in the nation this year.

When it comes to hitting there is a common misconception that we're a bad hitting team. We're really not! We're hitting just under .300 as a team. And I don't want to hear that our team average is skewed because of Rhymes, because we're second in the SEC in runs scored, and only eight runs behind Kentucky.

I'm not saying that I expect to win a National Championship this year, but to say that you don't think we're a CWS team is ridiculous. We're 39-13 with quality wins littered across our schedule. But the key to this season has been that we're actually winning a huge majority of our close games. I fully expect us to play well from this point on and we have a great chance to make it to Omaha. If we make it to Omaha anything can happen.
