Gala is terrible. Crescents isn't bad, but I'm not sure what the mascot would be.

Krewe, Gala, and Crescents suck.
Pelicans could be cool.
I think Brass could also be cool, but I wouldn't be surprised if it got shot down because of the closeness of the Jazz name.
If they wanted to call us like the Crescent City Captains or something maybe. I don't mind using Crescent that way, but I don't like that actual mascot(?) name.

Honestly the Steamers don't look too bad, wouldn't mind it. Pelicans are pretty dope, and krewe then crescents.
