I think it was more of a case that Mett didn't put in the work or show the leadership to come in a "win" the job. He wasn't going to get handed the job simply because of better skills.

I don't think any of that mattered honestly. Barring injury, Mett was never going to see significant playing time over 2 guys that had rotated the starter role for 3 years. That's not the way Miles operates
