One of my favorite guitar shredders out there right now - Guthrie Govan

If you like Satriani/Vai/Holdsworth/Petrucci type of guitar playing, this is your guy.

Guthrie Govan - wonderful slippery thing
Unbelievable chops, really cool melodies, and his record is pretty diverse, it's not just 32nd notes ripping every other measure.
I know he's not going to be for everyone, and I myself (a guitarist/teacher of 20 years) can only listen to "shred" for only so long, but this guy is worth a listen.

he scary good, and he can play across many styles of music.
