The QB situation is entirely on CLM. He recruited them. What point? That all of those schools mentioned have average defenses? Any of them SEC caliber? Absolutely not. Bring up a comparable team and make your point. I like Spurrier also. Saban as well. But Stoops is in the same class as Carrol.

I agree. Not having a good qb was on Miles. However, the point is, show me a coach who has a top rated qb every single year. There are none. OU seems to have more than most, yet they still collapsed without Bradford.

Auburn is in the SEC. You want another school with a top D? Let's look at the top 10 defenses from last year along with their Final Coaches Poll rankings. Most of these schools actually had above average to damn strong qbs yet still finished substantially behind LSU in the final polls:

Alabama (#1), LSU (#2), UGA (#20), So. Car. (#8), Mich. State (#10), FSU (#23), Illinois (NR), Wisconsin (#11), UF (NR), and PSU (NR).

Out of those schools, UGA, MSU, and Wisconsin all had top fight qbs....yet all finished well behind LSU. The other schools on the list arguably had better qbs than both JJ/Lee.

Edited to add: Miles may have hurt us by failing to have at least an average qb in place the past 4 years, but we have had a pretty damn impressive run regardless of that and I credit Miles, along with all of the assistant coaches. Now let's go get us another crystal football.
