They will miss some obvious leaders but every year the next group has to step up.

They will miss players like Ryan Baker, Brandon Taylor, Ron Brooks, Will Blackwell, etc - those team first guys. That's what is hard to replace. But it's time for others to step in to fill those voids and that's what is developed during spring, summer workouts and early fall.

With this theory the team would get worse and worse every year. You are only upgrading positions we recruited JC players. People step up from Freshman year to Sophomore year and prove to be stars. To say the defensive line is a downgrade is a reach. We lost one star with one year experience and are bringing back 6 stars with another year of experience and more ability than Brockers. You have to look past loosing 1st round draft picks and see who is going to fill those shoes and then look at who is going to excel and make that step from Freshman role player to "1st round draft pick".

I'd say:"
QB upgrade ( this is easy)
RB push (same backs and I don't think they can get much better)
WR upgrade (Between Landry and Odell gaining experience and a laundry list a athletes battling for #3 including Shep, we'll be better)
OL upgrade (lost nothing)
TE downgrade (I think Peterson should have been drafted)
DL UPgrade (in a major way)
LBs upgrade (Have you seen the big cat drill videos)
DB push (we lose Mo and some experience. Everyone thought we were doomed when PP7 left, we'll reload there. And we replace the experience with freak athletes.)
K upgrade (another year experience plus he competed against Mo Isom, that's gota be upgrade, right?)
P push (he cannot get better)
