Well the Minecraft Wiki will tell you a lot of things but most of what I am doing has just been figured out by people and shared. Like how to keep the mobs moving so they will fall into your trap. You place half blocks cause they won't spawn on those and as more mobs spawn behind them it will push them into your trap since the half blocks lock them in pretty much.

You should watch the videos about it that were previously posted.

Considering from what I've seen that it just has to go into a "blocked/cubed" area I'm not seeing how precision comes into this. I can put the same stuff in the same place someone using a mouse can do can't I?

I did.
But I simply referring to the process or turning, aiming, and placing blocks, which involves the same control scheme found on other console FPS games.

Yes. It's just typical PC fanboys saying otherwise.
Only thing different really will be how you craft objects. On PC you have to actually know the recipe to craft where as on Xbox it will tell you what you can craft in the various categories with what you have in inventory. There was no other way to do it on Xbox and from what I have seen of it it's quick and easy.

Then I should be good. I play most games on the highest sensitivity anyway. I can just turn it up if I need to

It's like anything. You get used to it. Plus with a game like MC it's not life or death if you miss place a block. I do that all the time with a mouse now.

I was looking forward to crafting like the PC did it, but if it can't be done, then so be it. I'm sure it will still be a blast

You can, but it's just quicker with a mouse. You could set your right analog thumbstick to the highest sensitivity, and it wouldn't come close to matching the celerity and precision with which one could turn using a mouse.
And there are other things, like managing your inventory. Using the right thumbstick to move a cursor within your inventory feels inaccurate and glacial compared to the control you have with a mouse.

I will bookmark this thread so I can find this again and the ones Stout posted

I'm sure it is, but what I was questioning was this

I just can't imagine attempting to build even a moderately detailed structure using two analog sticks. The control method simply isn't as quick or precise as a mouse and keyboard.
I was just questioning how precision played any part in what was being built when I can still place blocks in the same places you can.

Precision with respect to placing the reticle where you want when you want. Blocks have grids where they're allowed to be placed, but this really isn't any different from hitboxes on opposing mobs or players in a FPS. The reticle needs to be placed in the designated area, and then you pull the trigger. A mouse allows you greater and easier control over aiming.

So the only difference...

...is that you can build something a little quicker than I can.

Lynyrd, to be honest it's all speculation until the game actually comes out on Xbox next week but it's obvious Cs has an agenda here.
I will tell you this much about how much "speed" and "precision" matter on MC...at least 50% of the time I play it I use the touchpad on my laptop and we all know how clunky those things can be. I am sure it will be fine and easily managed with a controller. The people doing the port are well respected on Xbox and have done some great XBLA titles already.
Again, shite like this shows PC fanboy'ism at it's best.
